In fact I am honoured you think my playing is ok! = )
All I have to work on now is trying to convince MYSELF it sounds alright; for some reason I am seldom happy with anything I record, mainly as I know without the cameras focused in my direction and the subsequent nervousness it bestows upon me, I play a lot better. But, gonna keep trying, it’s the only way to break the viscous circle.
Eddie. No complaints about the playing, or about the organ or its own sound.
Just that it doesn’t sound like a WurliTzer and I think some people get confused between the style and the sound.
Well I don’t think it does TOO bad a job… I just use the presets so have yet to really “dabble” (there’s endless scope for tweaking), but it’ll do for the minute whilst I try and improve my playing. In its defence I will state it sounds tinny on Youtube, no real mid or bass clout, it sounds better in “person”
Nothing really recreates that sound as well as the real thing, but I can’t afford a real one!
Plus the good lady wife refuses to give up her dining room to house the pipes! Hehe…
Yes, the old Elka has gone to a good cause; spares for another poorly Elka, hehe. The new Yamaha is just awesome, I’m loving it so far. I posted this vid mainly to test my new Canon camera, much better than the old handycam thing I used.
Glad you liked it! T’was a mere test of my new camera, so please pardon the playing… = )
The organ is a Yamaha AR-80; comes with some very good theatre presets, but I was given some disks with the organ, and have also joined the AR Group, and downloaded some fantastic registrations from the other members, so the possibilities are endless!
Haha, cheers guys, t’was only a quick ditty just to try the new camera; got myself a Canon A470 from Argos, £49, so cheap at half the price I think, much better than the dark old handycam.
Oh, no offence taken!

It sounds very good and the playing is definitely in the Blackpool Style, but the organ sounds nothing like a WurliTzer – no way.

Hey great clip Eddie…you got rid of the old Elka then?
Hehe, cheers Bill, and it certainly is fun to play this Yamaha!
I’m starting to get used to it now, so should be posting some more real soon…
What fun!
Great job!
