I have p80 and whichever one I try has this problem, listen to it yourself. P90 costs as much as sx10 but you would have to wait till March, a lot of my photographer friends own sx10 as baseline aperture, or cannon g9 and g10, but none own a d40, if youre going good dslr your talking about 600-1000 bucks
Wait one month and get the P90 which Nikon just announced. They address the problems of the p80 in this model PLUS a 24X zoom, 12.1mp 30+fps and a flip down screen for taking photos above the paparazzi, Cant wait for this so I can buy it
The p80 is seriously a terrible camera which vibrates so much during sports mode it feels like its having a seizure, especially with zoom or fps. D40 is a really low end dslr that doesnt have a lot of features opposed to the sx10. .

hey guys, lets not forget sonys intro to the mid range digi camera range, dsc-h50, very smart and very sleek, but every review you see on these cameras they always pick a fault with each and every one of them, fujifilm s2000hd is nice looking too, with hd movie recording at 720p, great for youtube blogs
I am still trying to explore the camera. As of now CanonG10 seems to be the best bet but its coming ~$400 but I think if I add couple of bucks more I can get Canon xs REBEL(10.1mp) SLR which is a beginner SLR camera which is comparatively lighter ,compact and should be good for the person like me who is not a professional photographer but want to buy a capable and excellent quality pics camera. waiting for the best deal as I have almost make up my mind to go for Canon XS REBEL.

which camera guys?? I am gonna buy Canon SX10 or any alternate to SLR Is it a good camera? I am not a professional photographer but want to buy a very good quality camera.(SLR cameras are too big and heavy for easy carry).Based on the reviews and rating Canon seems to be #1. My budget is $400. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cmon man, don’t waste your time on this thing. If you’re gonna get a camera for Christmas, get a nikon d40 or a canon rebel xs. Great beginner DSLRs. ou’ll lik eit much better than this overpriced junk from nikon.

I disagree! I was looking at d40 and p80 the other day and I think the d40 takes pretty sucky pictures compared to the p80
its weird, I first wanted the d40
but when I saw the p80 and that it had video,
being a tipical youtube user, I HAD to get it because of its amazing video quality :}
The P80, hands down. I compared the pictures with a Nikon D40 and it’s really close. obviously nothing matches DSLR quality, but this baby gets close at 64 ISO.
Hey shiny, does this baby zoom by itself during video shoots or do i have to get closer?
